Jerome and Sedona

Joe and I spent this past weekend in Jerome and Sedona. Jerome is a old historic town 2 hours north of Phoenix that at one time was the largest copper mine in Arizona. Now it's mostly tourist and it's such a great little town. It was actually only our second time there and I don't know why. And that was several years ago.

We arrived about noon, walked around a little and then headed up to the Haunted Hamburger for lunch. The town is actually know as an "official" ghost town. We didn't see anything funny though. After lunch we were off to shop for a couple hours. The town is just so cool and the shops are so cute. And it's just old everywhere you look. But cool.
The town is called a vertical city. So there's like different levels of the town. You'll see in the pictures. I tried to book us a room for the night but everything was booked at every hotel.

So we stayed in Sedona for the night. It's just short 30 minute drive from Jerome. You can actually see the West end of Sedona from the upper part of Jerome. You'll see in the pictures.

Sedona is known as Red Rock Country. All of the mountains are a beautiful reddish color and the city has the most spectacular scenery. Especially as the sun starts to go down. I couldn't stop taking pictures. Every time you drive around another corner, there's another amazing view. I actually took too many pictures to post.

I don't know why we don't get to these places more often. They're so beautiful. Anytime someone wants to come visit....... I will gladly take you there. I promise, you'll love it.

Tons of motorcycles. I guess it's
a great day trip ride.

This was the back window view from one of the
little shops. It overlooks the lower part of Jerome
and Sedona way in the background.

We ran into some people we knew from
years ago. This is Mark. he was very
happy to see us. Can you tell?
This was an old RCA reel to reel
camera. Didn't find out what
year it was from though
