Fountainhills

Joe and I spent the weekend in Fountainhills. They were having one of their annual Art Festivals. There's a fountain in the middle of this park that shoots up 560 feet. It's actually higher than the Washington Monument and three times as high as Old Faithful in Yellow stone park. It shoots more than 70,000 gallons of reclaimed water per minute.
Anyway..... it was a very pretty day, the weather was great, it was fun walking the art fair and it was nice just sitting and watching the fountain.

The fountain goes off every hour
on the hour for 15 minutes

The resort we stayed at was pretty nice.
There was a casino just a short walk away
but I really wish we would have taken swim
suits. It was almost 80 degrees

Sunday morning we were up at the crack of dawn
and at the festival eary to watch the balloons
go up. The weather was great. Not too cool,
however pretty cloudy.

I guess it's tradition to touch your basket
in the water before going up. This basket
went a little too far in and had trouble
getting out. But it did eventually.

I thought the reflection in
this picture was pretty cool

I thought this was pretty cool. From a distance this looks like just a metal horse. But once you get up close you realize that the entire horse is made from old metal items. Forks, spoons, a faucet, egg beaters , a toaster, a tea kettle and even an old bedpan. It was pretty cool. You could just stare at it forever looking at all the old parts. There was even a small washing machine. It's just below the bedpan. Anyway...... we thought it was pretty cool. It was also in Fountain Hills

Nothing To Blog About

Once again I really have nothing to blog about. Other than dinner out Saturday night with some good friends, it's been pretty quiet for us. Sunday morning we woke up to it pouring down rain. I thought it was going to be one of those lazy days where we just hang out and watch movies. But by noon the sun had come out and it was beautiful. The sky was incredibly blue with big puffy clouds. And it got up to about 65. So our lazy Sunday afternoon turned into a great day to be outside. Here's a few pictures.
